Case study
Loytag — a SaaS backend, end to end
A property-management and loyalty platform handling complex relational data and a stack of third-party integrations. The most complete system I’ve owned so far:
- Schema
- High-normalisation PostgreSQL design with partitioned tables for transaction logs.
- Payments
- Stripe Connect for multi-tenant subscription management and payouts.
- Messaging
- Twilio-powered SMS notifications and OTP verification.
- Deployment
- Dockerised services with CI/CD pipelines targeting Oracle Cloud.

Performance work I’m proud of
450 ms → 120 ms
API response times
Query optimisation and payload compression across the hottest endpoints of the Loytag platform.
Multi-layer caching
Redis plus application-level LRU caches with deliberate eviction policies.
Queue-based async processing
Moved heavy work off the request path, keeping the event loop free.
